My expectations were really low for this finale. Why? Because Emily Prentiss is the badassest mothertrucker there is, and in my heart she belongs with Hotch. Always will. I have been on and off with Beth…I think it’s great to see the happy romantic side of Hotch and though the relationship felt forced…whatever. It was an exercise in me learning to separate what I wanted to happen on the show and what I wanted to imagine on my own. 

Anyway, I expected a) Beth to give me the creeps, b) to be annoyed that Will got the spotlight instead of a main character and c) Emily’s exit to be “blah blah blah I want to explore new things.” None of those happened. THANK YOU! The case was incredible. Amazing. I didn’t really care one way or the other about Will and JJ until this episode. Same for Kevin and Garcia. Thank you for making those relationships both work out. And Emily’s exit was just…astounding. She is such an inspiring character and it was set up really well for her to have legitimate reasons to leave. I hate that she’s gone but I think you sent her off in the coolest way possible given the notice you had and given the fact that you couldn’t kill her again (thank you!).

And since I opened with ship talk, I will close with it. Thank you for the Emily/everyone dances at the wedding. Something for everyone. I’m glad all the ships got their attention. And as a Hotly shipper I loved the Hotch/Prentiss conversation. Thank you for not telling Emily to be cold. Around anyone. Feelings everywhere. It’s late and I had a long day (but I got a bonus at work, so yay!). So sorry I make no sense anymore. And I swear I am a much better writer than this. Especially when it comes to zombies and pancreatic cancer, but you aren’t allowed to read my fic so that is neither here nor there.

Anyway, thanks for the finale that far exceded my expectations!

I will miss Emily so very much. Please bring her back ASAP!
